M & W Inspection Services, LLC provides services directly to homeowners that traditionally are only available to architects, contractors, developers and engineers. Our staff of experienced code officials, plans examiners and inspectors have many years of experience as municipal / building code inspectors and plans examiners.
Plan Review
Many homeowners today actively supervise the construction of their dream home, the renovation or addition to their existing homes. Experience has shown that in addition to licensed and qualified contractors, a complete, accurate, and code compliant set of construction drawings and documents is critical to the success of any construction project. Prior to submitting your drawings to the local building department for review, M & W Inspection Services, LLC will perform an in-depth code compliance review. Your drawings will be reviewed by a certified, experienced plans examiner and will include:

- Accessibility Code Compliance (ADAAG)
- Energy Code Compliance
- Component and Cladding consultation
- Structural drawings including:
- Post-tension slab-on-grade
- Truss layout
- Truss engineering
- Electrical drawings
- Mechanical drawings including:
- HVAC equipment sizing calculations
- Split-system analysis
- Plumbing drawings
A written critique is then provided to your design professional outlining the required code compliance corrections. We work with your design professional to insure that the drawings you submit for permit are complete, buildable and most importantly, code compliant.  Through research and experience, we have developed a thorough knowledge of building department requirements. Drawings that are reviewed and approved by M & W Inspection Services, LLC are usually approved by the permit issuing authority on the first review. You save valuable time and money by avoiding having to send your drawings back to the design professional and then re-submitting your drawings back to the building department for another review.
M & W Inspection Services, LLC has performed plan reviews for architects, contractors, developers, homeowners, and engineers. Our staff has reviewed drawings for projects ranging from small residential additions, multiple story single and multi-family dwellings, apartment and condominium buildings to commercial office building, retail structure and condo-hotels.
Inspections
Municipal building department inspectors are experienced and well trained. They do their jobs to the best of their ability. Unfortunately, most municipalities have a daily workload of approximately 20 inspections per day. Based on a 7 hour workday, that allows the inspector 22 minutes per inspection including travel time to the site of the inspection. In addition to being rushed, inspectors are also human; mistakes happen, items can be missed and overlooked. Additionally, municipal inspectors enforce the requirements of the building code and do not inspect for quality of materials or workmanship.  As long as the work is per the approved plans and meets the requirements of the building code, it will pass inspection. M & W Inspection Services, LLC provides private “Quality Control” and “Quality Assurance” inspections that serve as a supplement to the inspections required by the local building department. Experience has proven that having a private inspector perform inspections on behalf of the contractor or building owner vastly improves the quality of the work and reduces the amount of errors and re-work. M & W Inspection Services, LLC will devote the time necessary to review and inspect your project on an as needed basis to insure that the quality of the materials and the workmanship are not compromised. We do not replace the required municipal inspections nor do we supervise the actual construction. Our inspectors, working with your contractor, use an extremely thorough and systematic approach to each individual inspection, which insures that the project meets or exceeds the building, electrical, mechanical and plumbing codes and that a quality product is constructed.
